At some point in your life, you may find yourself questioning your career path -- letting the mind wonder... "Is this what I signed up for?" "I wish I can make more money" "I just graduated, where do I start?" "What's next?"-- there are so many thoughts that arise from the moment we set foot in the job industry (a.k.a adulting) and the time spent growing in the job(s) we held.
At what point do we feel a sense of excitement in our career or job(s)? That excitement we felt when we landed the interview; that same excitement when we got ready for work for that first day; that same excitement when we were introduced to the staff and welcomed with open arms; that same excitement when we decorated our work station for the first time; that same excitement when we saw our names appear on the company's website/directory; that same excitement when we passed along our first business card so outsiders knew who we are -- it's that excitement I crave. There's something so magical and inspiring when I looked back on the steps and experiences I went through to land the job I have today -- it was the determination and knowing the end result was possible that made my excitement so worthwhile.
After a long period of time within a job or when you reach your highest potential of growth, you may begin to wonder where to find that excitement again. Don't ever allow yourself to lock down to a position because of the fear of starting over -- there is no age or rule to find your excitement. The moment you realize your potential, ride the wave and give it your all. You can't lose if you haven't started and even if you have started -- know that you at least tried. Sometimes along the way, unexpected opportunities may cross your path and may even surprise you.
We all deserve a career filled with excitement. “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” -- Mark Twain.
